The missing link in many revegetation projects

Revegetation, whether it is tube stock planting or direct seeding of native vegetation, is not only about numbers or acres planted, but should also be about design and placement. This major problem still exists and often goes on with the support also of many funding agencies.

If this is allowed to continue, then we will see a change in our natural landscape features in the next few decades. The landscape feature will be a new type, not Australian in form, not European, but something disjointed in between.

The paper sets out to show simple steps to keep it more of an Australian feel. Things discussed are: vegetation associations; rainfall; species combinations and types; plant numbers in a known area; and layout to fit that particular landscape.
