Précis
"This book summarises plant growth and development data for some of the more common pasture species found in many parts of the western rangelands. The data were collected (by GM Cunningham and DR Green) over a period of 15 years from two locations in the Cobar district." It is a companion volume to "The plants of western NSW" and "The Glove Box Guide to plants of the NSW Rangelands".
Evaluation
A very practical guide book to the management of pasture species in western NSW. For each species (both exotic and native are included), there is a chart showing the frequency of growth, flowering, seeding and inactivity for each month of the year. It shows the response of different species to climatic variation and would assist land managers to sustainably manage their rangelands.
