By searching on Sensis you can offset emissions from the following household actions:

• 1 search = running ceiling fan for 1 hour
• 5 searches = running pool filter for 1 hour
• 10 searches = running electric radiator for 1 hour
• 15 searches = running lawn mower for ½ hour
• 25 searches = 5 min hot shower
   

Australian households generate almost one-fifth of Australia’s greenhouse gases – about 15 tonnes per household each year – through everyday activities such as transport, household energy use and the decay of household waste in landfills.

A kilogram of carbon dioxide will fill a large family fridge. A tonne of carbon dioxide will fill a family home.
